【摘要】:Thistestmethodwasdevelopedtoevaluatetheabilityofaheavy-dutydieselenginecoolanttoprovideprotectionagainstdamageresultingfromaphenomenonknownascylinderlinercavitationcorrosion.Thistestmethodmaybeusedforenginecoolantspecificationacceptancewhenalldetailsofthistestmethodareincompliance.ThedesignoftheengineusedinthistestmethodisaproductionOEMdieselenginemodifiedtoconsistentlyproducetheoperatingconditionsthatacceleratedamagefromcylinderlinercavitation.Thisfactor,alongwiththeacceleratedoperatingconditionsneedstobeconsideredwhenextrapolatingtestresults.1.1ThistestmethodiscommonlyreferredtoastheJohnDeereCavitationTest.Thetestmethoddefinesaheavy-dutydieselenginetoevaluatecoolantprotectionasrelatedtocylinderlinerpittingcausedbycavitation.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesisareforinformationonly.TheonlyexceptioniswherethereisnodirectSIequivalentsuchasscrewthreads,nationalpipethreads/diameters,andtubingsizes.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeAnnexA1forgeneralsafetyprecautions.
